Meta Makes Reels Creation Easier

Meta’s new reels template editor

You know how Reels are the big thing in social media right now? If you’re over about 35 years old it’s possibly something you don’t really feel confident enough to be able to create yourself. Well that’s all changing with some new user-friendly tools from Meta.

Reels on Instagram have been a massive hit for Meta since they were rolled out in 2022. These short form videos have enabled Meta to compete as an entertainment platform against the likes of Netflix and Youtube, vying for eyeballs and keeping users engaged for longer periods of time. It really has been a game changer for them.

And now it’s easier than ever for anyone to create Instagram reels, with the Templates Hub in the Reels Composer giving you more options to use popular templates to easily create your own reels.

The reels editor has had more upgrades too - you can add audio, music and text into your reels all within the main editor screen itself. No need for separate video editing software!

Also - If you see a Reel template that you like as you’re scrolling through Instagram, you can save the template to use later on for your own Reels.

So if you’ve wanted to get into creating Reels but didn’t have the confidence to do so, it’s just getting easier and easier for anyone to do it themselves now.

Of course you still need to think about what’s going to engage your audience and plan out a great video, but the actual editing is easier than ever.

Jump into the Reels composer on Instagram and check it out for yourself!

Here’s a step by step:
1. Open Instagram.
2. Tap the Video icon - bottom row, second from right.
3. Tap the camera icon top right.
4. At the bottom on the screen tap on Templates.
5. Select a template you like and simply drop in your own images or video clips.
6. Add text and a voice over if you want to.
7. Publish your Reel!
